The Iowa Department of Public Health’s Coronavirus dashboard, today (10-a.m., Tuesday), shows 526 additional positive test results for COVID returned from the labs, for a total of 374,385, and a total of 5,675 deaths, to-date. Long-Term Care facility deaths account for 2,224 of the total number of deaths across the state.
For the first time in several days, there was one new COVID-19 outbreak at a Long-Term Care facility. The Good Samaritan Society in Ottumwa has six active cases of COVID. Hospitalization data show: 185 Iowans are hospitalized with COVID (compared to 171 Monday); 37 people are in an ICU (compared to 41 Sunday); 28 people were admitted to a hospital across the state (compared to 23 Monday), and 16 patients are on a ventilator, two less than previously reported.
RMCC Region 4 hospitals (those in western/southwest Iowa) show: There are 12 hospitalized with COVID; 9 people are in an ICU; There were no admissions, and there are six people on a ventilator, compared to four on Sunday.
The 14-day positivity rate remains 4%, and the seven day rate is just a bit, at 4.3%.
