The Audubon Wheelers advanced to the Quarterfinal round of the 8-Man Football Playoffs with a 48-20 win over the Harris-Lake Park Wolves on Friday night at Chis Jones Field. The Wheelers turned the game at the end of the first quarter into the start of the second.
With the Wheelers up 14-6, the Wolves had touchdown pass called back near the end of the first quarter on a holding call. That would force the Wolves to punt the ball back to the Wheelers. Audubon then ran a double reverse flea-flicker on the first play of the second quarter to grab a 2-score lead.
Kaiden Smith had a monster night for Audubon. He finished with 3 rushing touchdowns, 1 receiving touchdown, and 1 passing touchdown. He finished with 105 yards rushing, 75 yards receiving, and the one touchdown pass for 21 yards.
Skyler Schultes was also a force for the Wheelers with 136 yards passing and 1 touchdown to go along with 58 yards rushing.
The Wheelers improve to 10-1 on the season and will get a rematch with the CAM Cougars next Friday in the Quarterfinals. The Wheelers won that regular season finale over CAM 19-16.
Harris-Lake Park ends their season with an 8-2 record.
We’ll have coverage of the Audubon vs. CAM game next week on KJAN. Pregame will start at 6:00pm, with kickoff at 7:00pm next Friday night at Chis Jones Field.
