The Iowa State men’s basketball team faded down the stretch and dropped a home game to Oklahoma State 64-56 on Saturday. The Cyclones led by six at halftime but the Cowboys quickly made it a tight game throughout the second half. The Cyclones really hurt themselves with fouls and at the free throw line. ISU went just 9 of 19 at the stripe.

Oklahoma State was led by 19 points from John-Michael Wright. Bryce Thompson added 12 pionts and Caleb Asberry had 10 points and 5 rebounds. The Cowboys improved to 16-9.

Iowa State was led by 13 points from Aljaz Kunc and Tamin Lipsey finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds. The Cyclones drop to 16-8 on the season.

The UNI Panthers dropped a home game on Saturday to Indiana State 80-62. The Sycamores jumped up big in the first half with a 44-29 advantage and held firm from there.

Courvoisier McCauley led Indiana State with 21 points. Julian Larry added 17 points and 4 rebounds. The Sycamores moved to 18-9.

UNI got 13 points from Tytan Anderson but he was the only Panther in double-figures. The Panther drop two games below .500 with a mark of 12-14.

The Drake Bulldogs romped past the Southern Illinois Salukis 82-59 on Saturday at the Knapp Center. The Bulldogs won the game in the first half with a 45-22 lead at the break.

Roman Penn scored 21 points and dished out 8 assists. Tucker DeVries add 15 points and DJ Wilkins had 12. Darnell Brodie notched a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds. The Bulldogs improved to 21-6 on the season.

Southern Illinois got 13 points each from Lance Jones and Jewaun Newton. The Salukis drop to 19-8.

The Iowa State women’s basketball team suffered a tough loss on the road Saturday to West Virginia 73-60. the Mountaineers took control in the second half with a 22-13 edge in the third quarter and then outscored the Cyclones by 5 in the final period.

JJ Quinerly led the Mountaineers with 20 points. Kyah Watson had 11 points and 12 rebounds as well. The Mountaineers improve to 15-8.

Iowa State was led by 17 points and 9 rebounds from Ashley Joens and Emily Ryan added 13 points and 7 boards. The Cyclones fall to 15-7 on the season.
