TIMOTHY DEAN “Tim” TYE, 54, of Atlantic (& formerly of Griswold) , died Sun., Nov. 13th, at the Atlantic Nursing & Rehab Center, where he resided for the past 4-years. Funeral services for TIM TYE will be held at 10-a.m. Sat., Nov. 19th, at the Central Church of Christ in Griswold. Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold has the arrangements.

Visitation is open at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6-7:30pm Friday, Nov. 18th.

Burial will be in the Whipple Cemetery.

TIM TYE is survived by:

His children – Jessica (Chuck) Shroyer, of Atlantic; Jason (Krissy) Tye, of Griswold; Joseph (Jessica) Tye, of Killeen, TX, and Samuel Tye and his family, of Auburn, WA.

6 grandchildren, and other relatives.

DORIS GIPPLE, 91, of Bridgewater, died Mon., Nov. 14th, at the Adair County Memorial Hospital, in Greenfield. Celebration of Life services for DORIS GIPPLE will be held 11-a.m. Fri., Nov. 18th,at the Trinity Christian Church in Bridgewater. Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield has the arrangements.

An open visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1-7pm Thu., Nov. 17th, with family visitation from 5-7 pm.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.steenfunerals.com.

Memorials may be directed to the family for distribution to Doris’ favorite local charities.

Adair County Supervisors to meet Tuesday morning

The Adair County Board of Supervisors will hold their regular weekly meeting one-day earlier than normal this week. Tuesday’s meeting begins at 9-a.m..  During the session, the board will canvass the results of the November 8th City Election. They’re also scheduled to hear from: Jane Lents, with regard to a Bond renewal; Sheriff Brad Newton, who will discuss garage issues; and John Hansen, with Midwest Construction Consultants, who will provide an update on the Adair Public Safety Center/Jail, and conduct a site tour of the new facility, which is scheduled to open in January.

Adair County 4-H’ers honored Sunday

Members of the Adair County 4-H organization were honored during an event held Sunday. The Adair County Extension office reports Halee Wallace, of Creston, and Riley Lonsdale, of Greenfield, were named the Top Junior 4-H’ers during an awards ceremony. Halee is the daughter of Doug and Julie Wallace, and is a member of the Richland Royals 4-H Club. Riley is the daughter of Marty and Maureen Lonsdale, and belongs to the Adair County Wing Walkers 4-H Club.

The Top Intermediate honors went to Shelby Soper, of Adair, a member of the Summit Super Stars. She’s the daughter of Clint and Mindy Douglas. Also receiving Top Intermediate honors, was Alyssa Christensen, of Stuart, member of the Jefferson Pioneers, and daughter of Chad and Lisa Christensen.

The Top Senior 4-H member honors went to Lisa Marnin, of Greenfield, and Zach Jorgensen, of Adair. Lisa is the daughter of Allen and Susan Marnin, and a member of the Summerset Citizens. Zach is the son of Paul and Jeanette Jorgensen, and a member of the Summit Super Stars. Both Lisa and Zach have served on the Adair County 4-H Youth Council.

Adair man arrested on methamphetamine charge

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says an Adair man was arrested last Thursday on a drug charge. 42-year old Jon Darin Steckelberg faces a felony charge of Delivery of a Controlled Substance/Methamphetamine. Steckelberg was being held in the Cass County Jail on $10,000 bond.  And, 29-year old Nathan Lee Lukavsky, of Council Bluffs, was arrested Thursday on a District Court warrant for Probation Revocation. Lukavsky was being held in the jail on $5,000 bond.

Last Friday (Nov. 11th), 32-year old Matthew Ray Thies, of Atlantic, was arrested in Cass County for allegedly violating a No Contact order. Thies was brought to the Cass County Jail and released Saturday on his own recognizance. And, 37-year old James Leroy Chelf, of Atlantic, was arrested Friday, on a Cass County warrant for Failure to Appear on a Driving While Suspended citation. Chelf was brought to the jail in Atlantic and later released on $325 bond.

Fremont County Sheriff’s report – Farragut accident

The Fremont County Sheriff’s office reported this (Monday) morning, one person suffered minor injuries during an accident November 3rd, a few miles north of Farragut. Officials say Judson Krein, of Farragut, was driving a 2007 Dodge Caliber on 370th Avenue, when he pulled into the intersection with 190th Street, and was hit by a 2000 Buick Century, driven by Michael Glenn, of Riverton. An unidentified passenger in one of the vehicles was taken to the Shenandoah Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

RAMONA “MONA” GAIL PETERSON, 83, of Harlan, died Sun., Nov. 13th, at Myrtue Medical Center, in Harlan.  Mass of christian burial for RAMONA “MONA” PETERSON will be held on Wednesday, November 16th at 11:00 am in the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan.  Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Harlan has the arrangements.

Burial will be in the Harlan Cemetery.

MARY AGNES GOESER, 79, of Harlan, died Sun., Nov. 13th, at the Elm Crest Retirement Home in Harlan. A Mass of Christian Burial service for MARY GOESER will be held 11-a.m. Thu., Nov. 17th, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan. Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Harlan has the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 6-to 8pm Wed., Nov. 16th, at the funeral home, where a Rosary takes place at 7-p.m.

Burial will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery in Westphalia. 

MARY GOESER is survived by: her brother, Donald (Mildred) Goeser, of Council Bluffs.
