Sunday Pursuit Leads to Arrest

Cass County Sheriff’s Officials arrested a man who pushed the speed limit on Sunday.  Officials say 22 year old Alexander Paul Dvorak of Atlantic was reportedly clocked doing 106 miles an hour in a vehicle on Highway 92 from Highway 71.  The vehicle was pursued to a residence in Massena, where Dvorak was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Reckless Driving.  Dvorak was taken to the Cass County Jail where he was released later that day on $1000 bond.

LOREN “AJ” ADRIAN ODELL, 51, of Atlantic died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.  Services for LOREN “AJ” ADRIAN ODELL will be held on Thursday, July 19 at 10:00 am in the Atlantic First Assembly of God Church.  Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic has the arrangements.

Open visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Family visitation on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Burial in the Oakwood Cemetery in Lewis.

Brother: Ray Odell of Missouri

Sister: Valerie Coggins of Alpine, TX

Atlantic Police Arrests

Atlantic police report two recent arrests.  On Friday, July 13, 31 year old Jason Trotter of Atlantic was charged with second offense third degree burglary and third degree theft.  On Monday, July 16, 22 year old Steven Sempek of Atlantic was charged with second degree criminal mischief and possession of stolen property/second degree theft.  Both were taken to the Cass County Jail and booked.

VIOLA WADDELL, 87, of Harlan died Saturday, July 14th at the Elmcrest Retirement Community in Harlan.  Funeral services for VIOLA WADDELL will be held on Thursday, July 19 at 11:00 am in the First Baptist Church in Harlan.  The Pauley-Jones Funeral in Harlan has the arrangements.
