CCMH Rehab Relocation

News

July 14th, 2012 by admin

The Rehabilitation Services and Cardiac Rehab Departments at Cass County Memorial Hospital are moving to temporary locations as the CCMH Addition and Renovation Project continues.

Cardiac Rehab has moved to the former Conference Room 2.  Patients should enter via the west lobby (on 10th Street, across from Atlantic Dental Center), go straight ahead and take the elevator to 2nd floor; turn right to enter Cardiac Rehab.

Rehabilitation Services (physical, speech and occupational therapies) will move to the former medical/surgical inpatient area on June 20, 2012.  Patients should enter via the west lobby and take the first right into the temporary Rehabilitation Services location.

Both departments are expected to be in these temporary locations until spring 2013, when they will move into newly remodeled space.  “As we move into Phase 2 of our Addition and Renovation Project we are beginning to remodel existing space that was vacated by departments moving into the new addition last month,” explained Sara Nelson, CCMH Public Relations Director. “We apologize for any inconvenience these temporary moves may cause, but are confident the end result will be well worth it!”

Cardinals Fall to Reds 5-3

Sports

July 14th, 2012 by admin

First baseman Allen Craig’s throwing error in the seventh inning helped the Cincinnati Reds rally for their fourth straight win, 5-3 over the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night.

Craig fielded Ryan Hanigan’s slow grounder with the bases loaded and threw wildly to first base, allowing two runs to score for a 3-2 lead off Adam Wainwright (7-9). Zack Cozart’s sacrifice fly completed a three-run rally.

Todd Frazier had a solo homer off Wainwright, who allowed only two hits over the first six innings before letting it slip away.

Alfredo Simon (1-1) escaped a bases-loaded threat in the seventh by striking out Matt Holliday. Aroldis Chapman fanned three in the ninth for his 12th save in 16 chances.

The game drew 40,217 fans, Cincinnati’s seventh sellout of the season.

150th Birthday For Union Pacific Railroad Includes Museum in CB/Omaha

News

July 14th, 2012 by admin

Six museums in Omaha and Council Bluffs are hosting events this weekend to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Pacific Railway Act which established Union Pacific and the Trans-Continental Railroad. Abby Cape with Union Pacific Railroad has helped organize displays at the Durham Museum, Lauritzen Gardens, the Union Pacific Museum, the General Dodge House, Joslyn Art Museum and RailsWest Museum. History buffs have a chance to see a document that is on loan to the Durham Museum from the National Archives in Washington D.C.

“Durham has part of the Pacific Railway Act in the building right now so you can actually see the document that started the Trans-Continental Railroad,” Cape said. Railroad Days 2012 is both Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at any of the venues and will allow admission into all six museums.

“You can go to any of the locations and park there, whatever is close to you, and we do provide transportation between the locations as well,” Cape said. More information is available at Omaha Railroad Days dot com (http://omaharailroaddays.com/).
