Lewis man arrested on assault charge

A man from Lewis was arrested Saturday on an assault charge. The Atlantic Police Department reports 37-year old Mish Loghry faces a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault. Logry was booked into the Cass County Jail.

2 search warrants result in 6 arrests

Separate search warrants executed over the weekend in Shenandoah resulted in the arrest of six people. According to the Shenandoah Police Department, five persons were arrested after a search was conducted at a residence in the 1200 block of west Thomas Avenue, in Shenandoah.  Ashley Greene, of Essex, and Jamie Stockwell, Katherine Lynn, and Dee Mattley, all of Shenandoah, were all charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Mattley faces an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance. In addition, Matthew Whitt of Essex, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and also faces a charge of illegal possession of prescription drugs.

A 2nd search warrant was executed at a residence on west Lowell Avenue, resulted in the arrest of David Dawson, of Shenandoah,  on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Dawson, Greene, Lynn, and Stockwell were all cited into court and released. Mattley and Whitt both posted bond and were given a court date before being released. Deputies with the Fremont and Page County Sheriff’s Offices assisted Shenandoah Police in serving the search warrants.

Shelby County Fire Danger Index to remain Moderate

The Fire Danger Index in Shelby County will remain in the “Moderate” category through this Thursday, November 8th. Emergency Management officials say sunshine and drying conditions expected for the balance of this week will create a moderate risk of grassland and field fires, when opening burning is conducted.

Atlantic woman injured in Adams County crash

The Adams County Sheriff’s Department reports 21-year old April Rutledge, of Atlantic, was injured early Sunday morning, during a rollover accident on Highway 34, north of Nodaway.  While complete details were unavailable, officials said the accident happened near the 56-mile marker on Highway 34, at around 3:52-a.m.  Rutledge was transported to Alegent Health Hospital in Corning. A report on her condition is not available.
