(Update 6:40-a.m.) 3 vehicle accident reported southwest of Atlantic

News

January 18th, 2013 by Ric Hanson

(Update) – Three vehicles were involved in an accident southwest of Atlantic early this morning. According to dispatch reports, there were no serious injuries. Officials say two-vehicles ended up in the north ditch, just west of what’s known as the “A-T&T curve”, about a mile east of the Lewis turnoff from Highway 6.  A third vehicle ended-up in the south ditch.

The accident occurred at around 6:20-a.m.  Officials say frost covered roads were making travel very slippery in the area. Law enforcement advises motorists to SLOW DOWN, especially when approaching curves in the road, on bridges and at intersections. The Iowa DOT reports roads all across western and southwest Iowa are completely covered with frost. Bridges are icy.
