Sheriff’s officials in Fremont County have released their most recent activity report. Authorities say 41-year old Jill Lynn Davalos, of Sidney, was arrested April 28th, for OWI/1st offense. That same day, 39-year old Douglas Allen Hastie, of Glenwood,was arrested for Driving Under Suspension and Speeding.
And the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a Thurman woman about a burglary and theft on April 30th. And an incident of Criminal Mischief was reported by a Hamburg man, on April 21st. There was also a two-vehicle accident which occurred on April 25th, but no injuries were reported.
The field and grassland Fire Danger Index in Shelby County remains in the “Low” risk category this week. That was the word today (Monday), from the Shelby County Emergency Management Agency, who said also, that the weekly notifications will likely be discontinued soon, unless unusually dry conditions return to the area.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reports two arrests over the weekend. On Sunday, 27-year old Brett Douglas Johnson, of Griswold, was arrested on a charge of OWI 1st Offense. Johnson was taken to the Cass County Jail where he was released later that day on his own recognizance. And, on Saturday, 24-year old Jodi Lynn Brookshire, of Audubon, was arrested, also on a charge of OWI 1st Offense. Brookshire was taken to the Cass County Jail where she was released later that day on her own recognizance.

JUDY SHERIFF, 75, of Greenfield, died Mon., May 6th, at the Winterset Care Center North, in Winterset. Celebration of Life services for JUDY SHERIFF will be held 10:30-a.m. Sat., May 11th, at the United Methodist Church in Greenfield. Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield has the arrangements.
Visitation at the funeral home will be held from 1-p.m. to 8-pm Fri., May 10th, with the family greeting friends from 6-to 8-pm. Online condolences may be left at www.steenfunerals.com. Memorials may be directed to the Judy Sheriff Memorial Fund, to be established by the family at a later date.
Burial will be in the Greenfield Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow, at the church.
