Coca-Cola Days On Tap This Weekend in Atlantic

The Annual Coca-Cola Days Celebration is set for this Saturday, September 28th in Atlantic.  The annual Coca-Cola Days Parade will be the finale for the festivities at 4pm Saturday and registration is currently open for all wanting to participate.

Entries from area clubs, businesses, and individuals are welcome for the parade incorporating the theme of “Coca-Cola: Born in the USA – Coca-Cola Days: Born in Atlantic, IA.”  Parade entry forms will be available at 6th and Chestnut in the City Park the day of the parade.  Only the children’s Coca-Cola themed costume contest for 12 and under will be judged and awarded AtlantiCash prizes.

Other Coca-Cola Days activities include the Show, Swap & Sell and Collectors Showcase from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Herring Building located at 2nd & Poplar Streets on Saturday, Sept. 28th. Merchandise including the 2013 souvenir flashlight will be available for purchase with the 2013 shirts.

JUANITA JEAN FRIEZE, 68, of Harlan died Monday, September 23rd at her home.  Funeral services for JUANITA JEAN FRIEZE will be held on Thursday, September 26th at 2:00 pm at the Pauley-Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.

Burial in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Harlan.

KENNETH E. SCHULER, 91, of Lyman died Saturday, Sept. 21st at the Griswold Care Center.  Funeral services for KENNETH SCHULER will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 25th at 10:00am at the Noble Center Church south of Lyman.  Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold has the arrangements.

Open visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 24th at the funeral home.  Family will be present to greet friends from 6-8pm.

Burial will be in the Noble Center Cemetery.

KENNETH E. SCHULER is survived by:

Wife: Betty Schuler of Lyman.

Children: Wayne (Karen) Schuler of Council Bluffs.  Douglas (Yvonne) Schuler of Tampa, FL.  Keith (Sandy) Schuler of Des Moines.  Janet (Jim) Porter of Las Vegas, NV.  Susan (Terry) Eberly of Clarinda.

Brothers: Dorland and Duane Schuler of Lyman.

WILMA WEBER, 92, of Greenfield died Friday, Sept. 20th at the Greenfield Manor.  Funeral services for WILMA WEBER will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 24th at 10:30am in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Greenfield.  Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 23rd from 12-8pm at the funeral home with family greeting friends from 6-8pm.

Burial will be in the Greenfield Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Greenfield Immanuel Lutheran Church or to the Yuma Christ Lutheran Church in Arizona.
