A WINTER STORM WILL MOVE OUT OF NEBRASKA AND KANSAS TODAY AND SHIFT ACROSS IOWA AND INTO ADJACENT AREAS TO THE NORTH AND EAST. AS THIS OCCURS…RAIN WILL TRANSITION TO SNOW INTO CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST IOWA THIS MORNING AND AFTERNOON.
A BAND OF HEAVY SNOW FALL IS LIKELY EXTENDING INTO MINNESOTA AND WISCONSIN. VERY STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS WILL DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON WITH WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 50 MPH EXPECTED. THIS WILL CREATE WIDESPREAD BLIZZARD CONDITIONS THROUGH CENTRAL AND NORTHERN PORTIONS OF IOWA INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. THIS SYSTEM LIKELY WILL CRIPPLE TRAVEL
THE SYSTEM WILL PUSH OUT BY EARLY FRIDAY MORNING AND COLDER TEMPERATURES ARRIVING FOR THE WEEKEND AND INTO NEXT WEEK. BY THE MIDDLE TO END OF NEXT WEEK…LOW TEMPERATURES COULD BE BELOW ZERO AGAIN AND HIGHS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS ACROSS THE REGION.

MARY ANN IRLMEIER, 79, of Carroll (& formerly of Templeton), died Wed., Feb. 19th, at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll. A Mass of Christian Burial Service for MARY ANN IRLMEIER will be held 10:30-a.m. Mon., Feb. 24th, at the Sacred Heart Church in Templeton. Ohde Funeral Home in Manning has the arrangements.
Visitation at the Sacred Heart Church in Templeton is open after 3-p.m. Sunday (2/23), with a Rosary at 4-pm followed by a Prayer service by the Catholic Daughters. Visitation will resume 9:30-a.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart Church.
Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery near Templeton.

Her brothers – Bernard “Sonny” Irlbeck & wife Helen, of Templeton; Jerome Irlbeck, of Manning; John (Barb) Irlbeck, of Coon Rapids; Raymond (Marian) Irlbeck, of Manning; Jim (Pat) Irlbeck, of Manning; LeRoy (Elaine) Irlbeck, of Manning; Tom (Dawn) Irlbeck, of Aspinwall; Fred (Karen) Irlbeck, of Aspinwall, & Eugene (Mary Jo) Irlbeck, of Carroll.

ELSIE M. PORSCH, 95, of Audubon, died Tue., Feb. 18th, at the Friendship Home in Audubon. Funeral services for ELSIE PORSCH will be held 10:30-a.m. Sat., Feb. 22nd, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Audubon. Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon has the arrangements.
Friends may call at the funeral home, where the family visitation is from 6:30-to 8:30-pm Friday (2/21).
Burial will be in the Arlington Heights Cemetery in Audubon.
