Creston man arrested on sexual abuse warrant

A Creston man was arrested Monday evening on a Polk County warrant for Sexual Abuse in the 2nd degree. Creston Police say 24-year old Bud Wade Nutt was arrested at a residence in the 400 block of West Mills Street, at around 7:50-p.m.   Nutt was held without bond and turned over to authorities with the Des Moines Police Department.

Council Bluffs man arrested in Red Oak for parole violation

Police in Red Oak arrested a Pottawattamie County man early this (Tuesday) morning. 27-year old Andrew Eugene Maybee, of Council Bluffs, was taken into custody at around 3:25-a.m. on a valid Page County warrant for Parole Violation. Maybee was transported to Clarinda, where he was being held in the Page County jail without bond.

Cardinals announce 2015 schedule

ST. LOUIS (AP) — The 2014 season still has nearly three weeks to go but the St. Louis Cardinals have already announced their 2015 regular-season schedule. The Cardinals said Monday they’ll open next season in Chicago for a three-game series with the Cubs starting April 6. They’ll then play three in Cincinnati before the home opener April 13 against Milwaukee.

The first interleague games will be in Cleveland, a three-game series against the Indians May 12 through May 14. St. Louis will then host Detroit for three games starting May 15.

The Cardinals’ final home stand will include games against NL Central rivals Cincinnati and Milwaukee. The Cardinals finish next season on the road, with games in Pittsburgh and Atlanta. The regular season ends Oct. 4.

Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Increasing clouds, with a high near 83. South wind 7 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Tonight –  **FLASH FLOOD WATCH 7-pm to 7-a.m Wed.** Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 4am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Low around 63. Southeast wind 10 to 14 mph becoming west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 2 and 3 inches possible.

Wednesday – A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7am, then a slight chance of showers between 7am and 1pm. Cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 58 by 4pm. Windy, with a northwest wind 14 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday Night – Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. Breezy, with a north northwest wind 10 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Thursday – Partly sunny, with a high near 60. North wind 9 to 11 mph.
Thursday Night – A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Friday – A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 56.
