Creston man arrested on marijuana charge

Police in Creston arrested a local man Tuesday afternoon on a drug charge. Officials said today (Thursday), that 27-year old Coty Allen Savage, of Creston, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana. Savage was being held in the Union County Jail on $1,000 bond.

Local Trooper to make his final patrol today

An Iowa State Patrol Trooper from Avoca started his final, distinguished tour of duty this (Thursday) morning.

Trooper Scott Pigsley (ISP 234), who is retiring from the Patrol, radioed-in to State Radio in Lewis, that he was  “10-41 for one last time,” (beginning tour of duty)  early this morning. Pigsley began his career 28-years ago, and is best known for his years of flying the State Patrol’s aircraft based in Atlantic.

Red Oak teen arrested for Eluding, Wed. night

Officers with the Red Oak Police Department arrested a teenager Wednesday on a charge of eluding. 17-year old Devon Lee Smith, of Red Oak, was taken into custody at around 9:45-p.m. in the vicinity of West 5th and Coolbaugh Streets. Smith was brought to the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Center, cited into Juvenile Court, and then released to his guardian.
