Hit and run accident in Creston

Police in Creston report a hit-and-run accident took place early Sunday morning. Officials say a pickup legally parked on Spruce Street was struck on the left front side by an unknown vehicle traveling northbound. The incident happened at around 4-a.m., Sunday. The unknown vehicle…believed to be a white colored truck… left the scene. Damage to the 1996 Chevy C-25 was estimated at $4,000.

MARY J. SHELTON, 81, of Earling (& formerly of Harlan), died Sun., Feb. 15th, at the Little Flower Haven Nursing Home, in Earling. Funeral services for MARY SHELTON will be held 2-p.m. Fri., Feb. 20th, at the Pauley-Jones Funeral Home, in Harlan.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5-until 8-pm Thu., Feb. 19th, with the family greeting friends from 6-until 8-pm.

Burial will be in the Harlan Cemetery.

MARY J. SHELTON is survived by:

Her children – Debby (Corey) Campbell, of Irwin; James (Dori) Shelton, of Carlisle, PA; and Pat (Jennifer) Shelton, of Harlan.

Her sister – Auntie “Pat” Jones, of Liverpool, England.

Her brother – John Williams, of Porthcawl, South Wales.

and 9 grandchildren.

For the archery season we have 4 archery members who have qualified for state – Heather Freund, Logan Russell, Taylor Kirchner, and Jordan Zarbano.  Luke Frisbee did have a qualifying score however it was late in the season and all shooting spots have been taken. So we are hoping for a spot to open up. If a spot does open he will be able to shoot.
