Results from the Boys Class 1A District Tennis Meet at Red Oak Thursday.

Doubles Championship:Travis Miller and Cody Goeser of St. Albert beat Austin Smith and Dedric Kettwick of Clarinda. Both doubles teams will advance to the state meet.

Singles Championship:

Weston Rolenc of Red Oak beat Ryan Kucera of Creston O-M. Both will advance to the state meet.

Team Scoring:

1. Glenwood 14
2. Creston O-M 12.
3. St. Albert

Preliminary Substate Dual in Creston is Saturday, May 16th with Creston facing St. Albert. Glenwood receives a bye to substate.

The 1A meet at Kuemper Catholic was postponed to Friday, May 15th featuring Atlantic, Audubon, Ballard, Denison-Schleswig, Harlan, Kuemper Catholic, and Saydel.

The 2A meet at Johnston was postponed to Friday, May 15th featuring Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln, Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson, Johnston, Lewis Central, Norwalk, and Waukee.

Creston arrest and break-in report

The Creston Police Department reports one recent arrest and a reported home invasion.

Early this (Friday) morning at 1:14am Creston Police arrested 56-year-old Donald Brown of Creston for Public Intoxication.  Brown was arrested near the intersection of New York Avenue and Union Street.  He was taken to the Union County Jail and held on $300 bond.

Creston Police also received a report of a break in on Thursday at 3:20pm.  Lena Darling reported that someone had broken into her home at 422 Livingston Avenue in Creston through a basement door between 1:30pm and 3:20pm on Thursday.  Many items were taken from the home including a 36″ flat screen tv, a 14K gold ring, laptop, tablet, silver ring, medication, surround sound system among other items.  Loss was estimated at $4,205.  The incident remains under investigation.
