Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz on the change at quarterback

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz refused to say if the move to Brendan Sullivan at quarterback is permanent. Sullivan entered Saturday’s win over Northwestern in the second quarter and led the Hawkeyes to 37 straight points in a 40-14 victory.

Sullivan’s ability to run opened up the ground game for Kaleb Johnson, who finished with 109 yards and three touchdowns as the Hawkeyes moved to 5-3.

Ferentz says they planed on giving Sullivan some playing time going into the game and using both quarterbacks going forward is still an option.

Ferentz says starter Cade McNamara was shaken up on a first half hit that resulted in a penalty.

Sullivan was asked following the game if he feels like he won the starting job.

Sullivan says McNamara has been supportive since he arrived on campus.

The Hawkeyes host Wisconsin this week and kickoff has been set for 6:30 in Kinnick Stadium.
