LAVERNE “BUD” LYLE PETERSEN, 89 of Johnston, died July 13, 2024 at The Bridges in Ankeny. Memorial services for LAVERNE “BUD” PETERSEN will be held 11-a.m. Saturday, August 10th, at the Congregational UCC and United Methodist Mission Church in Harlan (1211 19t St.). Iles Dunn’s Funeral Home in Des Moines has the arrangements.

Visitation will take place at the church beginning at 10-a.m., Saturday, with a luncheon to follow.

Memorials may be made to Wesley Life Hospice, 4328 114th Street, Urbandale, Iowa 50322.

A private family burial will be held at a later date.

His wife: Bernice, of Johnston.

His Son: Mike (Patti) Petersen, of South Sioux, NE

His Daughters: Kathy (Roger) Geotz, and Brenda (Chris) Heggen, all of Johnston.

His Sister: Delores Nordby, of Elk Horn, IA.

7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
