August 31, 2024 (Lyon County, Iowa) – The Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) reports the parents of an infant in northwest Iowa who died last Fall, have been charged in the child’s death. On September 25, 2023, a six week old infant died as a result of inflicted trauma.   The infant was in the care, custody, and control of his parents, Sydney and Brenan Schneidermann of Little Rock, Iowa.

On Saturday, August 31, 2024,  DCI agents arrested Sydney Schneidermann on one count of Murder in the First Degree (Class A Felony) and one count of Child Endangerment Resulting in Death (Class B Felony). Sydney and Brenan Schneidermann were taken into custody without incident and are being held at the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.  No further details are being released at this time.
