Atlantic Trojans Softball Team Sweeps the Shenandoah on Monday Night

The Atlantic Trojans softball team sweeps the Shenandoah Fillies in Hawkeye Ten Conference regular season matchup Monday Night.
In the first game, the Trojans defense stepped up as Freshman starting pitcher Peyton McClaren pitched all seven innings while striking out four Fillies batters on the night. The Trojans were led offensively by Wood, who went 2-3 with two singles and also hit her first home of the season to help secure the 9-1 win over Shenandoah.
In the second game, senior Claire Pellett went 2-3 with a triple and a double to help secure the 10-0 win over Shenandoah. Wood had a stellar night pitching all five innings, while giving up no runs on two hits and striking out three batters.
Coach Terry Hinzmann talked about both wins over Shenandoah on Monday.
McLaren complimented on how well her defense stepped up in game one against Shenandoah.
The two wins for the Trojans will improve their record to 15-8 overall and 8-2 in the Hawkeye Ten Conference. McLaren commented on what it’s going to take to get a win over St. Albert on Tuesday June 11th.
The loss for Shenandoah will put their record to 7-7 overall and 5-6 in the Hawkeye Ten Conference. The Fillies will host Red Oak Tuesday June 11th in Shenandoah. First pitch at 6:00 pm.
