CAM Cougars Girls Basketball season Recap

The CAM Cougars had a very good season this year. The Cougars ended their season in the regional championship game against the Montezuma Bravettes 60-47 in Norwalk. The Cougars ended the season with a 21-3 overall record and 14-2 in the Rolling Valley Conference.

The Cougars were led in scoring by senior Eva Steffensen, who scored 492 points this season and averaged 21 points per game. Steffensen also ended her Cougars career with 1,387 career points.

The Cougars will be losing seven seniors to graduation this year: Eva Steffensen, Carley Dennis, Meredith Ritch, Emma Follman, Kiera Nichols, Irelyn Gundy and Payton LaPorte.

Cougars head coach Joe Wollum was selected for Class 1A West Central District and Class 1A Region 8 coach of the year. Wollum had to say about be selected for those awards.

Wollum also said it was great season for the Cougars.

Wollum talked about playing in a competitive Rolling Valley Conference this season.

Wollum commented about how tough it really is to get three Cougar girls on the All Region team this season.

Wollum said this senior class was sure fun to be around.

Wollum did say that there was going to be some Cougars girls basketball camps coming up in June, with dates yet to be determined.
