AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior outfielder Milaysia Ochoa has been named to the 2024 Big 12 Softball Preseason Team as voted on by league coaches.

Ochoa, a Chino, California, native, was the lone Cyclone to start in and play all 55 games last season, landing herself on the All-Big 12 Second Team.

She led the team in almost every offensive category in 2023, including batting average (.319), runs scored (44), hits (53), doubles (13), home runs (12), RBI (33), total bases (102), slugging percentage (.614), HBP (9), and at-bats (166).

Players were picked regardless of position and coaches could not vote for their own student-athletes.

Iowa State was picked to finish ninth in the preseason conference poll and the Cyclones will kick off their 2024 campaign on February 8 against Utah Valley in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
