The (10-1) CAM Cougars are sitting atop of the Rolling Valley conference thanks to the fiery play of Eva Steffensen and her veteran heavy team. CAM is currently riding an eight-game winning streak and have been a dominant team to play in the Rolling Valley Conference. Head Coach Joe Wollum credits the attitude of his players for one of the reasons as to why they’ve been so successful this season.

One player that brings a positive attitude and love for the game of basketball is leading scorer Eva Steffensen. Steffensen is averaging 21 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. She can do just about anything on the team as she is also the currently leading the team in blocks with 23 and steals with 39.

The talent on CAM is not just limited to the efficient scoring by Steffensen. Senior Meredith Rich has been making an impact on defense for the Cougars and has earned credit from her Coach. Rich is third on the team with total points at 96 through 11 games.

Another senior who has played selfless basketball and contributed to the offensive prowess of Cougar basketball this year is Kiera Nichols. Who sits at second in scoring and rebounding for CAM.

It is easy to get complacent while being on an 8-game winning streak and with over a week of games being cancelled coach Wollum has had to be creative with the practice schedule to keep his team sharp.

The Cougars are back at it Saturday afternoon when they travel to Coon Rapids to take on the Crusaders.
