Arrest made in Lenox CSD threat

(Bedford, Iowa) – The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a juvenile, in connection with a threat to commit gun violence at the Lenox Community School District. Authorities today (Sunday) issued a statement which said their investigation resulted in the arrest at around 7:30-p.m. Saturday, of a juvenile male, who is charged with making terroristic threats. The juvenile was remanded to the Iowa Juvenile Detention Center and was being held in their facility.
As with a previous release issued by Lenox Superintendent Dave Henrichs, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office reiterated “school will continue this week as regularly scheduled.” The said also, “As with each and every school day, school safety is the top priority for both our office utilizing [the] SRO program and the school itself. Staff of Lenox Schools will implement safety protocols and there will be an increased law enforcement presence in the school.”
