Huskers Flow in Second Half to Beat Georgia Tech

(Lincoln, NE) – Nebraska was down 32-22 at the half and rolled out in the third quarter to score over double with 33 points alone as they ended up winning 80-72 in the second half. Nebraska went 13-15 in the third quarter and took a 55-54 lead in the fourth quarter. That was one of the largest comebacks for the Huskers in program history.
Nebraska was led in the game by Jaz Shelly with 22 points and eight assists. Shelly scored her 1,000 career points in the game against the Yellow Jackets as she now is in the top five in Husker history with three-pointers made. She also has moved up to the top ten in Nebraska in career assists. Alexis Markowski earned a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds as she was followed up by Natalie Potts with 13 points and four rebounds. Logan Nissley followed up in scoring with a total of 11 points to finish off the Huskers in double-digits.
Nebraska’s 58 second-half points were tied for the 10th most in the second half in school history. The Golden Jackets were led by Kara Dunn with 22 points while Tonie Morgan also added 20 points and five rebounds. Noguero threw down 11 points to finish off double-digit scoring.
Georgia Tech would have been able to stay in the game if they hit the threes, but shot just 30% from the three-point line. Nebraska went 67% in the second half from the field while shooting 39% from the perimeter in the game.
