Cyclones Overpower Prairie View A&M, 107-56

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State (7-2, 0-0 Big 12) played its best game of the season on Thursday night, Iowa State (8-2, 0-0 Big 12) remained unbeaten at home in an 107-56 victory over Prairie View A&M (4-4, 0-0 SWAC) Sunday afternoon in Hilton Coliseum.
The Cyclone backcourt (Tamin Lipsey and Keshon Gilbert) was sensational. Lipsey tallied 19 points and broke the ISU record for steals in a game with eight. The previous record was seven shared by Fred Hoiberg (1991 vs. American) and Justus Thigpen (1993 vs. Kansas).
Gilbert netted 20 points, his second-straight 20-point outing, and dished out a career-high eight assists and grabbed eight boards. Curtis Jones came off the bench to lead all players in scoring with 22, drilling a career-high six treys.
Iowa State’s 90 points against the Hawkeyes is the most since the team dropped 90 in Iowa City back in 2014.
Iowa State shot 61.0 percent from the field to overcome a season-high 25 turnovers. The Cyclones, however, forced a season-high 29 turnovers and held PVAM to 33 percent from the field, including a 28.6 percent clip in the second period.
ISU was 9-of-15 (60 pct.) from beyond the arc in the win.

Iowa State is off for a week and remains at home for a 5 p.m. CT matchup vs. Florida A&M next Sunday (Dec. 17). The game is on Big 12 Network/ESPN+.
