(Waukee, Iowa) – Officials with the Waukee Police Department report that at around 4:36-p.m., Saturday (December 2nd), Waukee Police and Fire Department personnel were dispatched to a welfare check at a pond near the 1100 block of Northview Drive, which is on the west side of the city. The team recovered the body of a male juvenile. The Police Department posted on social media, “Our hearts go out to all of those affected by this tragedy, we also extend our heartfelt condolences to the family.”

The youth’s name was not immediately released.
