No. 7 Iowa Field Hockey Team Fall in B1G Quarterfinals

ANN ARBOR, Michigan – The seventh-ranked University of Iowa field hockey team fell to No. 8 Maryland in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday afternoon at Phyllis Ocker Field Hockey Field in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Maryland started off the scoring in the 20th minute as forward Hope Rose found the back of the goal off an assist from Maci Bradford.
The Terrapins doubled their lead halfway through the third quarter on a goal by Sammy Popper assisted by Margot Lawn.
Maryland outshot Iowa, 14-3, and had a 3-1 advantage in shots on goal.
OF NOTE 
– Sophomore goalkeeper Mia Magnotta recorded three saves to Maryland’s one. Magnotta has a total of 64 saves on the season.
– The Terrapins beat the Hawkeyes for the second time in two weeks. Maryland defeated Iowa in College Park, Maryland, on Oct. 20.
– This was just the second time the Hawkeyes have been shutout this season (vs. No. 2 Northwestern).
