EUGENE FRANCIS “Gene” KOPP, 95, of Anita, died Monday, October 30, 2023, at the Heritage House, in Atlantic. A Mass of Christian Burial for GENE KOPP will be held 11-a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Anita. Schmidt Family Funeral Home of Anita is handling the arrangements.

Open visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with the family present from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Anita. A prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, also at St. Mary’s.

Interment will take place following the mass, with Military Honors from the Iowa Military Funeral Honors, and Anita Post 210 at Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Anita Fire & EMS for their new ambulance fundraiser or the fundraiser for the new park shelter project in Bandshell Park in Anita. Memorials may be mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home P.O. Box 523, Atlantic, IA 50022.

EUGENE ‘GENE’ KOPP is survived by:

His wife – Rosalie Kopp;

His daughter – Dr. Bethel Kopp (Dr. Stephen Gruba); Beverly (Lynn) Johnson; Emily Kopp (& Tom Ferrell);

His sons – Kelvin Kopp; Delmar (Kim) Kopp, and Mark (Jenna) Kopp.

10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and his sister-in-law, Phyllis Scholl.
