(Jefferson) — It was a tough night for the Trojans in Jefferson. Greene County found a rhythm early and went on to win 41-6 over Atlantic. Turnovers and penalties proved to be a challenge for Atlantic.

The game started with a quick sweep to Trey Schilling for 25 yards and the inaugural score. Atlantic would fumble on the following drive. Then a field goal shortly followed by Nathan Behne who went 2-3 on field goals and the game was 10-0. The Trojan offense came back out and fumbled again on the snap. Then again the Rams drove down the field and scored on a 6 yard touchdown pitch to Nick Stream. It was 17-0 Greene County.

The Trojan offense stalled and Gabe Ebersole took his team back down the field. Ebersole then called his own number and sprinted into the end zone on a 14 yard touchdown run. The game turned into 24-0.

After an Atlantic interception to Jack Hansen and a fumble recovery for the Trojans. Atlantic had their best drive of the night thanks to Gavin McLaren punching it in from the one yard line to make the game 24-6 at half.

In the second half things didn’t change for the Trojans and Greene County found their stride again. Ebersole dropped back and threw a 48 yard spiral to Jack Hansen on the sideline for a score. The game was now 31-6. Nathan Behne chipped in another 37 yard field goal and the game was slipping away from Atlantic, 34-6 Greene County.

The last score of the game was near the end of the third quarter. Ebersole took the snap and glided his way into the end zone for another 14 yard touchdown. The Rams led 41-6 and neither team would score again.

Atlantic Coach Joe Brummer recognized the disappointing performance from Atlantic
