Atlantic Cross Country leaves Clarinda Invitational with a Win

(Clarinda) — The Atlantic Girls Cross Country won the Clarinda Invitational Thursday night. It was an impressive showing with five Atlantic runners finishing in the top 10 and only accumulating twenty-five points. The top five runners for Atlantic were: Claire Pellett runner-up; Belle Berg, fifth; Katrina Williams, seventh; Makenna Schroeder, ninth; and Megan Birge, tenth. Raenna Henke, from Clarinda won the individual title with a time of 20:21.73.

The top five team scores for the girls were:

2 Clarinda 40
3 Riverside 86
4 East Atchison 107
5 Red Oak 127

On the boys side for Atlantic they were close to winning, but the Clarinda boys team won on their home turf. Clarinda would win with an impressive of 26 points. Atlantic had 43 from the evening. The top runners for Atlantic were: Alex Sonntag, seventh, Bennett Whetstone, tenth, Devon Fields, 12th, Tyrell Williams, 15th, Luke Irlmeier, 17th, Brayden Spurr, 18th, and Rickie Fields, 19th. First place finish was Treyton Schaapherder, from Clarinda with a time of 16:18.69.

The top five boys scores had some large gaps in between:
