Atlantic Football Feeling Confident for Clarke

Sports

August 25th, 2023 by Asa Lucas

(Atlantic) — The wait for Trojan football is finally over. This week the Trojans start their season on the road at Clarke. But last week Atlantic had a scrimmage against Carroll where some cobwebs had to be dusted off.

That was Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer. The scrimmage revealed a few weaknesses that the Trojans needed to work on. Coach Brummer was candid about his takeaways from the scrimmage. He dedicated all of this week’s practice to strengthen his team and becoming better.

It is not all doom and gloom for Atlantic. With the tweaks made Coach Brummer is still confident in his team and the work they’ve been putting in all off season. He sees a lot of positives in this year’s team. He likes the tenacity and fresh energy they carry.

Tonight’s matchup will be a good test for this younger Atlantic squad. Even with Clarke being a class size smaller at 2A, this will not be an easy game for the Trojans. Coach Brummer is aware of the grit Atlantic needs to win tonight’s game.

Kickoff in Osceola is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, August 25th. The game will be carried on KJAN/KJANTV and the pregame show starts at 6:30 p.m.
