Iowa pounds Michigan at Big Ten Baseball Tournament

A big fifth inning lifted Iowa at the Big Ten Baseball Tournament in Omaha, today (Tuesday).
(John Leo with the call on the Hawkeye Network.) Brayden Frazier’s grand slam capped a six run fifth as the Hawkeyes beat Michigan 13-3 in a game shorted to eight innings. Sam Peterson provided insurance in the bottom of the seventh with a three run blast.
Frazier’s homer opened the floodgates as the Hawkeyes won their 40th game of the season.
That was Frazier on the post-game show on the Big Ten Network. The Hawkeyes scored 12 runs in the final four innings.
Iowa is 40-13 and advances to Thursday afternoon’s second round.
