The 2023 boys state individual and doubles tennis tournaments finished up on Wednesday. Here is a look at how area athletes that were still competing fared.

In Class 1A singles play Lewis Central’s Christian Jensen lost in the consolation semifinals 6-1, 6-1 to Ryan Schmit of Cedar Rapids Xavier. Shenandoah’s Tyler Lawrence also lost in the consolation semis 6-4, 7-5 to Boone’s Cody Overland. Jensen then defeated Lawrence in the 7th place match 6-1, 6-1.

In Class 1A doubles play Glenwood’s Kayden Anderson and Tyler Harger lost in the consolation semifinals 6-3, 6-1 to Garrett Nurre and Jacob Schmit of Cedar Rapids Xavier. They then fell in the 7th place match 7-6 (4), 1-6, 10-4 to Michael Meis and Evan Pratt of LeMars, finishing with an 8th place medal.
