The UNI offense sputtered in the fourth quarter and the Panthers fell to Belmont 69-62 in the semifinals of the MVC Hoops in the Heartland Tournament on Saturday.

Belmont guard Destinee Wells scored 9 of her game-high 28 points in the final four miinutes to help the Bruins snag the win.

Maya McDermott led UNI with 15 points and Emerson Green added 15. The Panthers made seven threes in the opening quarter but hit just 4 of 17 the rest of the way.

UNI dropped to 18-9 on the season and will hope to end up in the WNIT.

Belmont improved to 19-10 and will take on Drake in the MVC title game.
