Patrick Mahomes named NFL MVP

Patrick Mahomes has been named the NFL Most Valuable Player for the second time in his career. Mahomes received 48 of 50 first-place votes from a nationwide panel of media members who regularly cover the league. Mahomes was also the winner in 2018.

Mahomes and his Kansas City Chiefs are perparing to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 57 on Sunday. Mahomes threw for 5,250 yards and 41 touchdowns with 12 interceptions during the regular season.

In other NFL awards New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll won Coach of the Year after leading the Gianst to their first playoff appearance in six years. 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans won Assistant Coach of the Year, he is now the head coach of the Texans. 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa was named Defensive Player of the Year and Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson was named offensive player of the year. Jets cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner was named Defensive Rookie of the Year. His teammate wide receiver Garrett Wilson was named Offensive Rookie of the Year. Seattle quarterback Geno Smith was named Comeback Player of the Year and Cowboys QB Dak Prescott was named Walter Payton Man of the Year for his charitable work.
