Denison-Schleswig pushed the pace early and raced away from Atlantic 66-47 on Friday night at Atlantic High School. The Monarchs used tight defense and a quick transition game to jump on top of the Trojans early, leading 20-7 by the end of the first quarter. Atlantic never recovered and the Monarchs continued to pull away for most of the night. Atlantic head coach Derek Hall said the guys were just out of sorts from the start.

Carson Seuntjens led the Monarchs with a 17-point night and three others scored in double-figures. Luke Wiebers had 13, Lance Arkfeld dropped in 11, and Jaxon Wessel added 10. The Monarchs improved to 12-4 on the season and they’ll be back at it Saturday against Carroll.

Atlantic was led by 14 points from Colton Rasmussen but nobody else reached double-figures. The Trojans drop to 7-12 on the season and they will try to regroup for a home game with Harlan next Tuesday.
