Seniors Quinn Grubbs and Shay Burmeister were knocking down shots early and led Exira-EHK to an emphatic 62-39 win over CAM on Friday night in Elk Horn. The Spartans started the game on a 9-0 run to grab the edge early. Sparty built a 35-21 lead by half and continued to build on the advantage in the second half. Exira-EHK head coach Tom Petersen said it’s great to have two guards controlling the game and shooting well out front.

Burmeister finished with 19 and Grubbs had 18. Fellow senior Mackenzie Riley provided great energy and dropped 11 of her 16 points in the second half. Coach Petersen said she is a great member of the team.

The Spartans improved to 13-2 on the season and will host West Harrison for their next game on Monday.

CAM was led by 15 points from Keira Nichols and 13 from Meredith Rich. The Cougars fall to 10-5 and will host West Harrison on Tuesday.
