The Harlan Cyclones started the game on a 14-0 run and led 18-3 at the end of the first quarter on their way to a 71-64 win over Atlantic on Friday night. The Trojans rallied back valiantly in the second half but couldn’t quite overcome the deficit. The Trojans trailed by 17 at halftime but got all the way back within 3 in the final minutes before Harlan shut the door. Bradley Curren had a couple of big driving baskets in the last two minutes to help seal the Cyclone win. Atlantic head coach Derek Hall said the slow start was just a bit too much to overcome.

As disappointing as the start to the game was it was impressive that Atlantic got as close as they did. Coach Hall said that no quit attitude has become a part of the program.

Harlan was led by 20 points from Bradley Curren and 16 from Teagon Kasperbauer. The Cyclones improved to 7-3 on the season and will host Kuemper Catholic next Tuesday for their next contest.

Atlantic got 22 points from Nolan Waters and 20 points from Colton Rasmussen. The Trojans drop to 4-8 on the season and will now get ready to host Red Oak on Tuesday.
