The Atlantic girls basketball team went cold from the field in the second half and Harlan got collective contributions to give the Cyclones a 57-46 win on Friday night in Harlan.

Atlantic led by three at the end of the first and built the lead to 11 mid-way through the second quarter. Harlan battled back at the end of the half to make it a one-point Atlantic lead at the break. Atlantic then went a bit cold from the field and Harlan had 5 different players hit a three in the third quarter to pull ahead. Atlantic head coach Dan Vargason said the cold spell hurt their chances but he was proud of the fight.

The Cyclones also did a phenomenal job of icing the game at the foul line, going 8-8 in the fourth quarter. Coach Vargason said you just have to give credit to an opponent that made the shots they needed.

Harlan was led by 14 points from Hannah Sonderman and 13 from Aubrey Schweiso. The Cyclones improved to 9-3 on the season and will next up host Kuemper Catholic on Tuesday.

Atlantic was led by 20 points from Paytn Harter and 9 from Maddie Richter. The Trojans drop to 9-4 on the season and will now prep to host Red Oak on Tuesday.
