Chiefs build big lead, then hold on to defeat Denver

The Kansas City Chiefs jumped out to a 27-0 lead over AFC West Rival Denver on Sunday afternoon and then had to make some plays late to seal a 34-28 win over the Broncos. After the fast start Patrick Mahomes threw two interceptions late in the first half to make it 27-14 at halftime.

The Broncos got within 6 two different times in the second half but the Chiefs made some big plays on their final drive to run out the clock. Isaiah Pacheco sealed it with a tough 11-yard first down run in the final two minutes.

Patrick Mahomes finished 28-42 for 352 yards and 3 touchdowns with 3 interceptions. Jerick McKinnon had a big game with 112 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

The Chiefs improve to 10-3 on the season and stay in 2nd place in the AFC. It was the 14th straight win for the Chiefs over their AFC West rivals.

Next up for the Chiefs is a road trip to face the Houston Texans next Sunday.
