The Drake Bulldogs fought hard on the road against St. Thomas (5-1, 3-0) but came up short with a 26-14 loss. The Bulldogs were down 20-14 at the half and the two teams didn’t score in the third quarter. St. Thomas punched in a 5-yard touchdown run by Gabriel Abel with 13:48 left to secure the win.

St. Thomas outgained Drake 430-307 yards, including a strong 249 yards on the ground. Gabriel Abel finished with 101 yards and 3 touchdowns rushing for the Tommies.

Drake quarterback Ian Corwin went 17-36 passing for 184 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions as well. The Bulldogs fall to 0-7 on the season and 0-4 in the Pioneer Football League.

Drake returns home to face Davidson next week in a 1:00 p.m. kickoff at Drake Stadium.
