Montgomery County Supervisors to act on Auditor’s resignation

(Red Oak, Iowa) – The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors are set to meet 8:30-a.m. Wednesday (June 8th), in their courthouse meeting room. New Business on their agenda includes accepting the resignation of Auditor Stephanie Burke. Assuming her resignation is accepted, the Board will set an appointment to fill the vacancy in the office of the Montgomery County Auditor. Burke was expected to make a comment to the media on her reason(s) for tendering her resignation, on Wednesday.

Other business during the meeting, includes opening the sealed bids from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Auction for certain property, and act on the bids accordingly. They are expected to take action also, on:

  • Approving a Real Estate Lease between Montgomery County and Family Connections, Inc.
  • Approve a request to abate taxes and refund the tax sale certificate holders for 300 E. Market Street, in Red Oak.

The Board’s next regular meeting is June 14th, immediately following the 2022 Primary Election Canvass. The June 8th Board of Supervisor’s meeting is public, and can be viewed via Zoom (meeting ID: 861 8514 1628)
