St. Louis Cardinals rookie Juan Yepez hit a double down the third base line in the 9th inning and Dylan Carlson drove in that run with a single to center, lifting the Cardinals to a 3-2 win over the San Francisco Giants on Friday night.

The game was tied virtually the whole night with both teams scoring two runs in the 5th before the go ahead run by St. Louis in the 9th. Harrison Bader drove in the other two runs for the Cardinals with a two-run homer, his second of the season.

Ryan Helsley was credited with the win on the mound going just one inning. Giovanny Gallegos came on in the ninth for his sixth save of the year.

The Cardinals improved to 16-10 and will face the Giants again on Saturday at 6:15 p.m. CT. We’ll have coverage on KJAN with pregame at 5:20 p.m.
