GALEN D. NEWMAN, 80, of Atlantic, died Tue., Sept. 7th, at Atlantic Specialty Care, in Atlantic. A Memorial service for GALEN NEWMAN will be held 11-a.m. Monday, Sept. 13th, at Zion Lutheran Church, in Atlantic. Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Atlantic has the arrangements.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service on Monday, also Zion Lutheran Church.

Burial will take place at First Lutheran Cemetery just south of Wiota. Lunch will be provided after the committal service at Zion Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be directed to the Newman family and will be designated to some of his favorite charities.

GALEN D. NEWMAN is survived by:

His daughter – Melinda (Monte) Dressler, of Anita.

His son – Kevin (Jess) Newman, of Atlantic.

His sister – Dorothy (Charles) Burnett, of Atlantic, and his twin sister Gloria (Roger) Cashatt, of Glenwood.

7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, other relatives, his in-laws, and treasured friends, including the card party group who have been together over 50 years.
