Atlantic boys hoops grits out road win over Lewis Central

The Atlantic boys basketball team picked up a road win over Lewis Central on Friday night 53-47. It was a tight game throughout but the Trojans grabbed a lead in the third quarter and held on down the stretch. Atlantic turned a one point deficit at half 22-21 into a three point lead at the end of the third 34-31. The Trojans had as much as a 7 point lead in the fourth before holding off a late Titan push. Ethan Sturm came up huge in the fourth quarter with four threes, including one with a little over a minute left to push the Trojans out to a five point lead and held seal the win.

Sturm finished with those 12 points. Skyler Handlos had 13 to lead all scorers and Dayton Templeton finished with 10. The Trojans improved to 2-2 on the season and will host Nodaway Valley on Saturday and Shenandoah on Tuesday before the holiday break.

Lewis Central was led by 12 points from Nicholas Miller. The Titans fall to 2-3 and they will next travel to Glenwood on Tuesday.
