DOROTHY JEAN SWOPE, 90, of Oakland, died Saturday, July 25th, at the Oakland Manor Nursing Home. An open visitation for DOROTHY SWOPE will be held at the Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM.; Visitation with the family will start on Wednesday, July 28, 2020, at 10:00.  Visitation with the family will continue until 11:30a.m. Wednesday, when a procession will leave the funeral home for a graveside service at Oaklawn Cemetery.  Rieken-Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland has the arrangements.

You are welcome to bring your own chair to the services at the Oaklawn cemetery, Wednesday.  Masks are strongly suggested, and social distancing will be encouraged.

Her son – Steven L. Swope, of Oakland.

Her daughters – Suzanne “Sue” Fischer, of Atlantic, and Shawn (Ray) Evans, of Hancock.

Her sister – Darlene Wooten, of Longview, TX

5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; Her sister-in-law Dolores Swope, of Lewis, and her special family friend Judy Thompson. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
