A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY (TUESDAY) UNTIL 9-A.M. WEDNESDAY, FOR Shelby, Harrison and Pottawattamie Counties, and from 6-P.M. TODAY UNTIL NOON WEDNESDAY, for Audubon and Carroll Counties. Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 5 inches and ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch are possible from Denison and Carroll toward north central Iowa. Winds will be gusting as high as 40-to 50-mph.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. A rain and a mixture snow, and sleet is forecast to turn over to all snow on Tuesday afternoon and evening. The heaviest snowfall is expected after 6 PM. Slow down and use caution while traveling. A WINTER STORM WARNING remains in effect from 6-p.m. today (Tuesday) until Noon Wednesday, for Sac and Crawford Counties, and from 9-a.m. today until 9-a.m. Wednesday for Monona County. Moderate to heavy Snow and strong north to northwest winds. Near Blizzard conditions are expected in far northern Iowa. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 10 inches are possible, with the highest amounts will be near the Minnesota border. Winds gusting from 35 to 45 mph with a few of up to 50 mph.
