The City of Atlantic’s Planning and Zoning Commission will meet 5:30-p.m. Tuesday, in the Council’s Chambers at City Hall. On their agenda is the introduction of new Commission Consultant Alexis Fleener, Community Development Team Leader with SWIPCO. The P&Z will then discuss and make a recommendation on a request from a resident in the 500 block of E. 4th Street, to review the Setback Requirements of R-3 District, as it pertains to the construction of two-car garage on the west side of a home.

They will also review the site plan for a commercial building addition, with regard to The Car Guys, at 1200 S.W. 7th Street. Owner Roger Paulsen wants to add a 40’x80′, 3,200-square foot steel building to his property, at a total estimated cost of $190,000. If approved, construction would begin in the Spring of 2020, with the project completed by the end of next Spring.

The Commission will also discuss “Tiny Homes,” which are a popular trend in urban real estate. Alexis Fleener will help guide the discussion on how the Zoning Ordinance may be modified to better accommodate the trend, if the Commission desires.
