New Nonstop Flight at Des Moines International Airport to Sarasota-Bradenton

Des Moines, Iowa (August 13, 2019): The Des Moines International Airport will be offering its 22nd nonstop flight to the new destination of Sarasota, Florida.  Officials say the flight will be seasonal on Allegiant Air and will operate twice a week beginning November 23rd.  Allegiant will now serve eight cities from Des Moines International Airport.

Airport officials say news of the new flight comes after another record-breaking month of passengers at the Des Moines International Airport.  In July, 268,961 passengers traveled through the airport accounting for a 7.6% increase over July 2018.  Allegiant Air saw the biggest increase in passenger travel with a 23.5% bump over last July.  They held 11% of the passenger traffic last month.  Year to date, the Airport has an 8.2% increase in passenger traffic over 2018.  Chief executives at the Airport anticipate hitting 3 million passengers this year.
