Adair County Supervisors to act on Resolutions pertaining to $5-million in G.O. Capital Loan Notes

The Adair County Board of Supervisors, Wednesday, will act on approving two Resolutions pertaining to the issuance of $5-million on General Obligation Capital Loan Notes (Bonds), Series 2019. The funds will be used to pay the costs several projects, including but not limited to: Equipping the Recorder’s office (digitizing county records and books); capital projects for the construction, reconstruction, improvement, repair, or equipping of bridges, roads, and culverts; and peace officer communication equipment and emergency communication equipment and systems. The Resolutions approve:

  • The appointment of a paying agent, note registrar, and transfer agent, and authorizing of the loan agreement.
  • Authorizing and providing for the issuance, and levying of a tax to pay for the notes, along with approval of the Tax Exemption Certificate and Continuing Disclosure Certificate.

On July 31st, the Board agreed to accept the lowest true interest bid of 1.7741% from Country Club Bank, of Kansas City, Missouri. In other business, County Auditor Mandy Berg will discuss matters pertaining to an Election/Information Technology Deputy 12-month Step Increase; and Sheriff’s Radio Equipment Insurance Premium. Sarah Gomez, with Midwest Partnership, and two representatives of the Greater Des Moines Partnership, will make a presentation to the Board. The Adair County Board of Supervisor’s meeting begins at 9-a.m., Wednesday.
